There is a thin layer of frost on the freezer drawers; they look foggy - is this normal?

A thin layer of frost on the freezer drawers is normal and can occur when warm air enters the freezer, such as when the door is opened.

To illustrate, think of taking a cold bottle of water from the fridge. When the bottle, at a cooler temperature (36°F), comes into contact with warmer air (74°F), condensation forms, causing it to appear foggy or frosty. The same principle applies to your freezer, where the temperature difference is even greater—0°F inside the freezer compared to 74°F outside. When warm air enters, the moisture in the air quickly freezes, forming a thin layer of frost.

Occasional frost on the front panels or drawers is a normal result of this air exchange and is nothing to be concerned about.
